Does your iPad performs awkwardly and get stuck from time to time? That means you may need a cleanup for your iPad. You can choose to delete things like messages, photos and notes directly from the iPad but the data was not deleted thoroughly but saved temporarily to somewhere. Deleted items may pop up every so often.
To delete things permanently, the only way is to erase all the content and settings by going to Settings>Reset>Erase All Content and settings. You’d better to create backup for your iPad, especially for the important information like Contacts, Notes, Photos, and Messages on your iPad.
Sure, you can choose to sync everything on your iPad to iTunes or iCloud as Apple would advise. iTunes is cool and great but there is an annoying problem inspiring to give a second thinking of it, you cannot choose certain data to restore to your computer, meaning you cannot selectively restore whatever you want.
There is another way to back up your iPad and you can try iFonebox which is professional iOS data recovery software being capable of exporting Contacts, Notes, Calendars, Safari Bookmarks, Messages, and Photos etc and transferring to computer for backup. After you exported the data you want to computer and created backup, you can choose to erase all the data from your iPad (you can also sync your iPad to computer for additional backup) and then choose to setup your iPad as new.
Follow the detailed steps to export Contacts, Notes, Messages, Voice Memos and Photos etc to computer (Here I would like to take exporting Contacts for demonstration) for backup.
iFonebox is available for both Windows and Mac OS users and you can download a free trial to have a try but you need to pay for the full version.
Step 1: Connect your iPhone to computer after you install and run the full version of iFonebox. Click the bottom button of Start to get started to export Contacts directly from your iPad.

Step2: Choose Contacts to export by clicking on the icon for contacts, you can also check the top right box to choose to export all the data supported by iFonebox.

Step3: Preview the exported contacts and do some selections and modifications before transferring to computer.

Note: You can restore Contacts and Notes selectively and directly to your iPad after you finished the cleaning up for your iPad.
By doing so, you created additional backup for important data on your iPad so that you can delete data (supported by iFonebox) you don’t want to keep on your iPad permanently and setup your iPad as new, so that you can speed up your iPad to the utmost extent.
