If you have been using Android phone for quite a long time and are planning to change for iPhone, you need know well how to transfer important information from your original Android phone to iPhone. Actually, transferring contacts, photos and other important data to iPhone from Android phone is not as difficult as you may expect. And there are more than one way to do so. You are still strongly suggested to back up to either the cloud or a desktop machine before transferring/syncing to iPhone.

If you Android phone takes a similar sized SIM as your iPhone, either a micro- or nano-SIM for later iPhone models, you can insert the SIM card for your Android phone to your new iPhone, meaning swap the SIM card. Be very careful to cut down any SIM card to fit, because if you get it wrong and all the contacts will be gone forever.

Step 1: Save all contacts on the Android phone to its SIM.

Step2: Insert the SIM into your iPhone, taking care not to mislay the iPhone's SIM.

Step3: Go to Settings and choose "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and tap "Import SIM Contacts". Replace iPhone's SIM card with the original card after you finish the operation.

Your contacts will be associated with your Google account if you have been using your Android phone and Google account (Gmail, Google Play, etc) for some time. Go to Settings on your Android phone and choose "Accounts and Sync" or similar. Enter your GMail account details and turn on synchronization. Your phone contacts and Google Contacts should now synchronize.

Then go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and add your Gmail account on your new iPhone. Make sure Contacts are enabled for the account. You should now find that all of your Google contacts are in your iPhone.

You can do as the demonstration below either on your iPhone after you have followed the steps above, or on your Android before you make the move.

Step1: Go to Settins>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add Account>Other>AddCardDAV Account

Step2: You will be asked to fill up the information below:

Server: Google;

User Name: full name of your google email address

Password: password for your Google account

Note: If you’ve enabled 2 Step verification you’ll need to generate and enter an application specific password.

Step3: Tap “Next” at the top of your screen and Make sure that the "Contacts" option is switched on.

Step4: Open the Contacts app on your device and syncing will automatically begin between your iPhone and Google after you go thought the setup process.
